Road Trip (Riders Edge) Part II: The Way Down

Once I meet up with Dan though the ride all of a sudden became a whole different story!!!

The Route: [MAP FROM Abergele TO Llandrindod]

On this route you get immediately into the whole reason for the trip…. Riding on (challenging? Kinda, but more relaxed tbh) roads that has very little traffic on!

We took a steady pace, because lets face it who wants to rush a ride like that, especially when you have all day to get where your going! wasn’t quite Easy Rider, because we actually had somewhere to go, but ver very chilled indeed!

The route through Snowdonia was nothing short of breathe taking with undulating mountain roads with view of outstanding natural beauty.

As we began to exit the national park the only thing that could have dampened our trip started to show its big grey head, and with it the temperature plummeted and the rain came! thankfully not for too long, but long enough to make the trip uncomfortable to Llanidloes. Thank god for heated grips! (or so I thought!)

At this point the day had started to feel very long especially after my initial trip to Abergele at lunch time.

Thankfully, the sun showed its face again for the later part of the day and with the thought of Hotel Dinner and a few beers in mind we soon ate away the miles on yet more wide open roads that undulated through the Welsh countryside and arrived at our hotel just after 6pm.

We were shortly followed in by Liam who once had got half way down the M4 has a good ride down, although I believe getting through/around London was a bit of a ballache!

Hotel: Nice!
Beer: cold!
Drunk: probably!

But all in, although a long ass day, it was a thoroughly enjoyable with fantastic scenery and great to catch up with some old mates and sink some beers.
