The Guitar Order – Gordon Smith

Well about half way through my lessons I started to understand a lot more around the sounds from a guitar and what I wanted from my guitar. Which then prompted me to look in to buying one for myself and returning my brothers back to him.

After weeks of reading and looking through review web sites about Guitars, their sounds and other characteristics I got to the point where I felt I could ruck up to a Music shop and try some out and try and find one that was right Continue reading “The Guitar Order – Gordon Smith”

Guitar – Getting up and Going

The back ground to this story starts some time ago… [some time around 1990…after ‘Appetite for Destruction’ and before ‘Use Your Illusion’] where I used to attempt to join in with my good friend in playing the guitar, not having a guitar of my own I used to borrow my friends second guitar (Rockwood Hohner – Les Paul copy) this way of self teaching got me about 3 single string licks of a couple of Metallica intros!

Long story short, my brother Continue reading “Guitar – Getting up and Going”

Site Update: Music Page

I’ve updated the site to include a ‘Music’ page, you can access it by selecting the tab on the top navigation or by selecting this link: [post=251].

The Page syncs with my last.fm account which  in turn syncs with my iPod, iTunes and Winamp. It all works pretty seamlessly as well, you can see my last.FM homepage here: www.last.fm/user/Keepy69

Site update: Places Visited

I’ve added a page to the site that shown the places I’ve been (visited/worked/holidayed etc). I’ve probably missed a few out… well I know I have but if you know that I’ve been somewhere and think it should be posted up here then let me know in the comments section! You can find the page at the top navigation bar or by following this link: [post=238]

Dream Garage (Cars)

Everyone should have one, and most people have got an opinion on one, it comes from a money no object, personal preference standpoint, so there are always many differences of opinion which is what makes it good fun to list, and see a list of them! so what’s your dream garage? Add you comments below as to what you’d have in yours!

My view is that you have to go for ‘one for each occasion’ others may well think that you have to amass a collection of Sports exotics… whatever takes your fancy. With that in mind my ‘Dream Garage’ would have:

1. A daily driver, something fast but usable
2. Something to take to the pub…. and leave there…
3. A Sunny day sport car
4. Performance for enjoyability – A Japanese state of the art
5. Something for the Wife and Kids
6. Something collectable

So here’s how mine pans out….

What is the meaning of life? but more interestly who are the people

There are two destinct paths that you can follow in life, you can be an educator or an explorer. There is a hybrid class here of an Educating Explorer or is this an Explorer/Educator? We’ll get on to that later! for now we just have to think of people in those 2 broad classes!

The Tamiya Madcap

The other day I was aimlessly browsing the internet and stumbled across an R/c site (Radio Controlled for the uneducated).

After delving in to try to find out what the best competition rc cars of today are performing like and which ones are best suited to rampaging there way around local parks terrorizing grannies and tormenting pooches, I decided to look up the model of the off-roader that I have when I was younger.

I was surprised to see Continue reading “The Tamiya Madcap”

SKY HD – PSU Fix

I was experiencing problems with my Sky HD viewing, Freezing Picture with continuing Sound, with a LOT of channels saying there is no reception! After putting up with this for about a week just putting it off to bad weather (no that it was even that bad for England!) hoping that it would just sort itself out with the odd reboot hear and there.

On googling I found the below article on DigitalSpy.biz:
